I like to get out into the hills for a hike when not spending too much time working and commuting. Fortunately I live in an area that's ideal for access to both the North and South Downs and so I can get out into the beautiful countryside, getting fresh air, testing my stamina with hills (and finding good pubs for a well-deserved half-way pint!). I also enjoy skiing in winter and used to scuba dive a lot.

I have travelled quite widely and love finding out about new places and cultures.

I enjoy going out (cinema, theatre, concerts, meals, pubs) or staying in (with the right person). Sports are something I enjoy (watching rugby, listening to Test Match Special etc.) because I am a normal guy, after all.

I enjoy conversation - not because I'm chatty, but more because I find words and what / how people say things to be interesting, as well as discovering and learning new things. Text speak is rather wasted on me, but grammar and spelling are nice!

Most of all, though, I enjoy a challenge from someone with humour and an intellect that matches mine - that's what defines "chemistry" for me.
